Chris Murphy - Our Founder
Over three decades of experience as violinist, composer, bandleader and music producer, has led founder Chris Murphy to create the Teahouse Company.
Chris has composed, produced, and performed his unique string music for solo and collaborative independent albums, as well as for film and television. An artist with a distinct vision, Chris plays and composes music for the violin, the electric violin, and the mandolin, among other instruments. Chris’ vast repetoire spans many genres and cultures including rock violin, jazz violin, swing violin, gypsy violin, Irish fiddle & Bluegrass fiddle, among many others.
Chris has performed on television programs such as Fox’s “‘Til Death” and The Ellen Degeneres Show.
Chris enjoys sharing his love of music, teaching violin, mandolin, and guitar in his Santa Monica studio. Chris holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston and has also studied in New York and Seattle. |

Sherri Axe - Manager and Booking Agent
Since 1997, Sherri has worked in fashion and entertainment consulting and planning events, private parties and weddings. She has worked with companies such as In Style Magazine and GRB Entertainment, as well as being Donna Karan's personal assistant.
Her love of music and bringing people together led her to join Teahouse, managing and booking the 11 bands and solo performers
within the company.
She graduated University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in Advertising and Public Relations, and is also a certified
Kundalini Yoga and meditation teacher, and a licensed massage therapist. |
